Umi-to-Nippon Project: Toyamawan Osakana Donjara (Toyama Bay Fish Donjara) Distributed Free of Charge to All Elementary Schools in Toyama Prefecture
BANDAI CO., LTD. has developed a Donjara game that enables players to learn about local marine creatures together with TOYAMAMIRAILAB, the organizer of the Umi-to-Nippon Project (The Ocean and Japan Project). The details of the game were coordinated and the design considered with the opinions of a large number of people, including local aquariums, educators, and students from local elementary, junior high, and high schools. The result was an educational game that enables players to spontaneously learn about and become interested in marine creatures—not only do they have fun learning as they play, they can also extend their play in pursuit of new knowledge. The game was distributed free of charge to elementary schools and children’s classrooms for after-school care in Toyama Prefecture from the end of December. Through this activity, the Group hopes to help children gain an understanding of and increase their interest in the environment in which they live through “play.”
